Lost Arts studio

A lot of the fiber arts I enjoy are things like tatting, netmaking, chair caning, and even weaving, where people will come up to me when I demonstrate and solemnly tell me, "That's a lost art."

Estate Sale Find

Seven lace knitting needles and an eight-and-a-half-inch long glass-headed hatpin.

The photo just shows the rust on some of them. They are soaking in a lubricant/water-displacer to help remove the rust, then I'll clean them one at a time and sand the rust off using the nail buffing kit and micron abrasive paper.

One pair is finer than the size 19 Bucilla needles I got at an antique store. I think those two might be Bucilla needles, too -- they have the same drill-pointed tips.

Price for all eight: ten cents. I love estate sales.
