Lost Arts studio

A lot of the fiber arts I enjoy are things like tatting, netmaking, chair caning, and even weaving, where people will come up to me when I demonstrate and solemnly tell me, "That's a lost art."

Knitted Ornament

This ornament is down to 8 stitches on a size 0 needle. I am double knitting it using crochet thread, and DMC metallic thread, Article 284 Or/Gold, which comes on a 40 meter spool. I packed it firmly, and I mean firmly, with white acrylic yarn using a small dowel. It feels like I have a styrofoam ball in there!

It's headed for my fiber arts guild potluck and ornament exchange on Wednesday. That means I still have to finish one for the lace group exchange Monday night!
